Natural burial of ashes in a woodland setting
Book a natural burial of ashes in woodland
Your booking will include a memorial tree (choose below) along with a carved Welsh slate plaque carrying a bespoke inscription. Both tree planting and burial of ashes in our woodland settings have to take place between November and February.
Choose a woodland burial plot at Tithe Green
Woodland burials involve tree planting, boosting the habitat for birds and natural wildlife. Our woodlands are peaceful places to visit, and it’s lovely seeing the trees inch taller over time. Nearby plots are possible, but not adjacent.
Memorial trees & plaques
Instead of a tombstone, we plant a tree as part of every woodland burial, placing a small Welsh slate plaque with an inscription at the foot of the tree. In our wildflower meadow settings we place plaques instead of trees. We can also plant a memorial tree in woodland without a burial taking place.
Our other natural burial settings
Natural burial of ashes in a wildflower meadow
(from £700)
At Tithe Green Natural Burial, you can reserve a plot in a peaceful wildflower meadow setting at one of our sites in Nottingham, Leicester, or Rutland.
Our approaches
Natural burial
(from £1,675)
This means burying a person in a biodegradable coffin using only natural materials, either within woodland (a tree and plaque are planted alongside) or a wildflower meadow (a plaque is placed).
Natural burial of ashes
(from £700)
This means burying ashes in the ground in a biodegradable container. As with our main natural burial approach, this can be within woodland (with a tree and plaque) or a wildflower meadow (plaque).
Cremation + natural burial of ashes
(from £2,295)
This means enlisting us to arrange an unattended cremation and burial of ashes in the ground in a biodegradable container. As with all approaches, burial of ashes can be attended or unattended.
Memorial tree without burial
(from £600)
This means planting a tree in someone’s memory without a burial taking place. This too can be attended or unattended. All trees are accompanied by a welsh slate plaque with a bespoke inscription.
