Wool & willow urns
About our urns
Our wool and willow urns are something we can provide for natural burial of ashes, in case you’re not able to provide ashes in a biodegradable container. With natural burial we use only natural, biodegradable materials, avoiding plastics, metals and chemicals: it’s an essential part of the approach. If you are able to provide ashes in a biodegradable urn with details of material construction, we may be able to work with what you have. The urns we provide are beautifully and sustainably made in the UK and 100% biodegradable.
Two types of urn
Wool
Our wool urns are made from natural and sustainable material sourced from British farmers under the Quality Assurance scheme, available in soft grey or warm white.
These urns are 18cm high x 30cm wide x 24cm deep.
Willow
Our willow urns are made from willow farmed on the Somerset Levels in the West Country and come with a handmade cotton drawstring pouch. There are two shapes available:
Square: 15cm high x 15cm wide x 16cm deep.
Heart-shaped: 15cm high x 23.5cm wide x 18cm deep.

How it works
Natural burial
(from £1,675)
This means burying a person in a biodegradable coffin using only natural materials, either within woodland (a tree and plaque are planted alongside) or a wildflower meadow (a plaque is placed).
Natural burial of ashes
(from £700)
This means burying ashes in the ground in a biodegradable container. As with our main natural burial approach, this can be within woodland (with a tree and plaque) or a wildflower meadow (plaque).
Cremation + natural burial of ashes
(from £2,295)
This means enlisting us to arrange an unattended cremation and burial of ashes in the ground in a biodegradable container. As with all approaches, burial of ashes can be attended or unattended.
Memorial tree without burial
(from £600)
This means planting a tree in someone’s memory without a burial taking place. This too can be attended or unattended. All trees are accompanied by a welsh slate plaque with a bespoke inscription.
